It is the first of two podcasts this week as we went over two huge events over the weekend. First, we went over NXT Takeover: Chicago, which had four title matches and a huge angle to end the show. And then we went over Smackdown's first PPV since WrestleMania, Backlash. Everyone seems to be hot over the new WWE champion. It's kind of hilarious.

Thanks for listening. We'll have another pod this week.

TJR Wrestling Podcast #90: WWE Raw/Smackdown Review and Early Backlash Predictions

May 11, 2017

We are at the 90th episode of the TJRWrestling Podcast. Brought to you by TJRWrestling.Net. Hosted by John Canton and Rey Moralde.

WWE is in the middle of their European tour and they made a stop at London to do their Raw and Smackdown shows. We noticed that the crowd was unusually different for Raw while they were a bit more normal on Smackdown. SD is setting up their card for Backlash, which is 10 days away as of this writing (11 when we recorded). Backlash will have Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal for the WWE title, but everyone is excited for Shinsuke Nakamura's first main roster match which will be against Dolph Ziggler.

Thanks for listening, guys.

This is our second podcast of the week as we talk about the WWE Payback fallout. We went over what were the hot and cold angles of Raw and Smackdown. We even briefly talked about NXT as Takeover: Chicago is coming up. And we talked a little bit about the upcoming Smackdown pay-per-view, Backlash. Didn't we have Backlash at September last year? This is all so confusing.

Also, we spent way too much time talking about the July Raw Pay-Per-View, Great Balls of Fire. How can you take that seriously? GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!

Thank you for listening!

TJR Wrestling Podcast #87: 2017 WWE Payback Preview and Raw/Smackdown Recap

April 27, 2017

Welcome to the 87th episode of the TJRWrestling Podcast. Brought to you by TJRWrestling.Net. Hosted by John Canton and Rey Moralde.

We went off the rails a little bit on how gimmicks are these days in WWE before getting into a little bit of news. There will be biopic of Vince McMahon soon! How crazy is that? I bet Vince will play every version of him in the movie.

Then we talked about Raw and Smackdown. Raw took a few steps back as their storytelling continues to be shoddy. And Smackdown had a few nice moments. Then we previewed the upcoming supposedly Raw-exclusive PPV, Payback, when that show involves two current Smackdown superstars. That Superstar Shake-up really muddled things up.

Thanks for listening. We seriously appreciate it.

TJR Wrestling Podcast #86: Ranting on WWE’s Lack of Details, JINDER Wins, Raw/Smackdown Review & More!

April 21, 2017

Yo. This is Episode #86 of the TJRWrestling Podcast. Brought to you by TJRWrestling.Net. Hosted by John Canton and Rey Moralde.

We started off with a bit of rant as we have felt for a long time that the WWE lacks storytelling. Why did the Superstar Shake-up happen? How DID they do the Superstar Shake-up? Why are guys like Jinder Mahal, after losing forever, suddenly getting chances at the most important belt of a brand? We want to know why such things happen!

We also went over the first Raw and Smackdowns post-shake-up. And we went over the suddenly packed Payback card.

Thank you for listening, wrestling fans!

April 14, 2017

What's up, guys? This is Episode #85 of the TJRWrestling Podcast. Brought to you by TJRWrestling.Net. Hosted by John Canton and Rey Moralde.

It was our usual Raw/Smackdown review but we knew that this week was the "Superstar Shake-up." That meant some talent switched brands to freshen the shows and give us new match-ups. We talked about all the transactions and how they fit in their new brands. We also talked a bit of news (including Mauro Ranallo not returning to WWE) and a little early preview of the next WWE Pay-Per-View, Payback.

Thanks for listening, wrestling fans!

How's it going? It is Episode #83 of the TJRWrestling Podcast. Brought to you by TJRWrestling.Net. Hosted by John Canton and Rey Moralde.

WrestleMania 33 was just over with. And so was the Raw after Mania. And we talked about both events. Was Mania better than what we expected? And did we guess the surprises correctly? Also, did we like the Raw after? Was THAT better than what we expected? And did we like the fresh faces that were added to that roster?

This was the first of two podcasts this week. Thanks for listening!

As for Takeover, we go match by match with all our thoughts and analysis on what was a tremendous show for the brand. We discuss who could potentially move up to the main roster, what we thought went right and wrong with the broadcast, and also just how important the Drew McIntyre signing is for the brand. Lastly, we wrap up with some of our favorite WrestleMania moments, both live and watching on TV. There are some great stories told during this part of the show. Check it all out and be sure to leave all your feedback to me on Twitter @KTankTMB!

The Match Beyond: Episode 21 - Ring of Honor’s Momentum, WrestleMania Reset, & What Makes a Hall of Famer

March 20, 2017

This week on The Match Beyond podcast, both Hank and Mark McAllen are back to talk three things on my mind. First we get into all things Ring of Honor. With Manhattan Mayhem and the 15th Anniversary PPV behind them, all things are leading to Supercard of Honor, which looks to be a great show. We discuss all the positives that have transpired over the last month, but also look into the question marks that are sure to be coming after their big WrestleMania weekend show. After that we take a look at where we stand with WrestleMania. How could they allow Nakamura and Balor to not be on the show? How long is too long for the show's runtime? Lastly, how much does The Miz need this win against John Cena and just how much of a push should he get from here on out? Our final topic is a leftover fan question from our episode two weeks ago. What makes a hall of famer? It's a timely discussion as we talk about this year's class potentially being the best ever. We also take a look at some current fringe hall of fame possibilities and discuss what makes them or does not make them worthy at this time.

It's a fantastic episode, so be sure to check it out and then leave all feedback to @KTankTMB on Twitter!
